Foodies And Vintage Lovers Of NYC: Smorgasburg, Brooklyn Flea And Berg'n Under One Roof For The Winter
The New York Times broke the news that our favorite open markets are migrating to Crown Heights for the winter season. Smorgasbord reigned territory in Brooklyn, but now with Manhattan "competition" - UrbanSpace on Broadway is consistently seeing growth, with about 30 vendors feeding the tourists and New Yorkers who work in the area. But we believe there is enough room for everyone to succeed in this casual, fast dining experience.
Eric Demby is the co-founder of the Brooklyn Flea - a market for small retail vendors - and Smorgasburg, which also recently opened a new venture, Berg'n in Crown Heights. Berg'n, which opened August, is a large beer and food hall with four established vendors, and is the home of the famed ramen burger.
The newly founded 9,000-square-foot space of Berg'n will now be joining forces with Smorgasburg and the Brooklyn Flea for an all inclusive winter home. Food, beer, coffee and some vintage shopping - what more do you need?
The company's short-term lease agreement will be active from Nov. 8 to sometime in the month of March. This "supersize market", consisting of 30,000-square-feet, will be located between Dean and Bergen streets and will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the weekends.
We're excited. See you there!
