Second Annual ASID Summit Highlights Design Talks From Industry Leaders
The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) will hold the Design to Lead Summit. In its second run, the summit will be held in Washington, D.C. today, April 13.
The conference, which will run the entire day, will be attended by industry leaders in different design fields hoping to inspire new professionals in their respective businesses. It will include group discussions, immersive learning workshops and talks from leaders and experts in different industries. It will also provide a dialogue of ideas between designers and other guests from around the country.
Among the speakers is Toni L. Griffin, a professor of architecture and the founding director of the J. Max Bond Center on Design for the Just City at the Spitzer School of Architecture in New York. Another speaker is Don Blanchon, executive director of Whitman-Walker Health in Washington D.C.
Reed Kroloff, another speaker at the event, is the principal of jones|kroloff, a consultancy firm for the design industry. Kroloff was also the former director of the Cranbook Academy of Art and Art Museum and the dean of the Tulane University School of Architecture. The current CEO of ASID, Randy Fiser, will also be a speaker for the summit. A list of other speakers will also be discussing various topics during the summit connected to design and its related fields.
Attendees of the “Design to Lead” Summit will receive up to 0.5 CEU credits. Guests can also tour the Whitman-Walker Health Center, an organization dedicated to kids with HIV. Attendees of the tour have to pay an additional fee and receive an additional 0.1 CEU credits. Fifty percent of the proceeds from the tour will benefit the Whitman-Walker Health Center.
