'Guardians of the Galaxy 2' News & Update: Behind-the-Scenes Photos Released
"Guardians of the Galaxy 2" has previously released its trailer of their upcoming movie this year and now they're giving out more teasers. Fans and movie buffs alike get a look at what to expect in the movie through some of the behind-the-scenes photographs from the beloved group of anti-heroes. James Gunn, the franchise's movie director, gives us something to speculate on as photos show different scenes in the movie.
The trailer already gave away the scene-stealing character of "Guardians of the Galaxy" in the form of Baby Groot. Other characters both new and old have also been seen in these pre-release photos. One of the pictures that Gunn shared was that of him and some of the cast members a year ago when they started filming "Guardians of the Galaxy 2." The picture, which is in Comicbook, shows lead actors Zoe Saldana and Chris Pratt (Gamora and Peter Quill) along with Dave Bautista (Drax the Destroyer), Gunn's brother (who plays different roles in the film and the physical movement for Rocket Raccoon) and of course, James Gunn himself in the middle.
The director of "Guardians of the Galaxy 2" captioned the photo: "This photo is from ONE YEAR AGO...So much has happened since that time I honestly can't believe it's only been a year." What a year it was. Judging from the trailer, you can see how much the production has put on to deliver better graphics and hopefully an even better storyline.
Other photos emerged. One showed the "Guardians of the Galaxy" posing as a backdrop for their album entitled "Awesome Mixtape 2." Some of the pictures showed the cast: Starlord wearing his signature mask and wielding weapons, the interaction between Peter and Drax, Baby Groot, and Rocket Raccoon. New and returning characters are shown in more photos posted in Nerdist: Drax with Mantis (the confidante of Ego), Nebula (the sister of Gamora), Yondu (the one who raised Quill), a battle with a creature, and one showing the actors in a set.
The appearance of Mantis in the "Guardians of the Galaxy 2" can be labeled as a teaser since Ego is Quill's biological father. Kurt Russell is set to play this character yet there has still been no pictures as to Ego's appearance and size (in the graphic novels, he is a size of a planet). The movie will be launched early this year.
