2014 Architectural Digest Home Design Show Starts Today
The 13th Architectural Digest Home Design Show kicks-off today. The annual show which will go until Sunday, March 23, will again showcase the top 2014 trends for shape, technology, colors and design in health and wellness. The exhibit will be held in aisles of Pier 94 in New York City.
On its opening day, March 20, designers and other trade professionals can exclusively preview the works from 11:00am to 7:00 pm. Viewing to the public will be open on Friday, March 21. The exhibit will feature kitchen, bathroom and building products of more than 100 brands. Kitchen shows will also include culinary demonstrations of top chefs as well as food tasting. Young design talents will also take their spotlight in the MADE section which has well-curated selections of furnishings, lighting designs, limited edition art pieces and photography.Aside from the trade shows, guests can also attend the seminars organized by Architectural Digest which will be held at the Jenn-Air Masters Class Studio.
The Designer Seminar series will include topics such as “Learning from the Masters: Best-Kept Secrets” conducted by Jill Cohen, Laura Bohn, Ellie Cullman, Suzanne Kasler and Brian McCarthy; “Design dot com: The Changing State of the Industry,” with Dustin O’Neal, Patrick Hamilton, Lindsey Coral Harper, Josh Liberson and Noa Santos; and “A Talk with Mario Buatta” with Emily Eerdman as the seminar’s moderator, among others.
Another big event would be the ASID NY Metro’s Designer Walks. The design tour will take guests to a show floor while guides such as Arleen Angard, Bjorn Bjornsson and Charles Pavarini will provide design insights. Interested guests can check the schedules online.
On Friday, March 21, table installations will be showcased at DIFFA’s Dining by Design NY. Guests who will avail of the show tickets will get admission to the dinner. Portion of the proceeds will go to the Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS.
