Asia Hotel Design Awards to be Launched in Singapore Next Year
Sleeper Magazine, the organizer of the European Hotel Design Awards has recently announced its future launching of the first Asia Hotel Design Award's ceremony which will be held in Singapore.
Patterned after the European Hotel Design Awards, which is now on its 16th year, the panel of judges for the Asia awards will be represented by leading international companies from architectural and interior design firms and from the hospitality industry.
With a diverse group of judges, this will ensure a wider perspective and more expert selection process in every category.
For its first year, the AHDA panel will be headed by Vice President for Design & Engineering of AMEA for IHG, Khristie Myles.
On July 2014, AHDA will open its doors for entries on hotel projects completed between August 2013 and August 2014. After which, entries will undergo a six-month judging process to identify the finalists and the winners. The winning entries will be announced during the first awarding ceremony in March 2015.
Alongside the launching of AHDA will be a new exhibit for the hospitality industry called
Hospitality 360°. The exhibit will take place along with the International Furniture Fair Singapore, The Decor Show, and the ASEAN Furniture Show.
During the exhibit’s launch EHDA director and Sleeper Magazine editor Matt Turner said, “Asia is the world’s fastest growing region for new hotel design and development and Singapore is the design hub for the region. We are delighted to be adapting the successful format of the European Hotel Design Awards to Asia in 2015.” Turner added, “We believe with the support of Sleeper Magazine, and our strategic partnership with the organizers of Hospitality 360°, we will establish the Asia Hotel Design Awards as the continent’s premier celebration of hotel design excellence.”
