The Xiaomi Mi 6 is reported to come in two variants similar to how the Xiaomi Mi 5 was released, however, a recent leak claims that things will be done quite differently. A fresh new rumor from a source from Weibo has shed some light on the upcoming device, however, it still has to be taken with at least a pinch of salt.
According to GSM Arena, the source who posted on Weibo claims that the Xiaomi Mi 6 will follow the footsteps of the Xiaomi Mi 5 and come in two variants. However, there is a notable difference in features and strategy. The report claims that the two variants will both have 4GB RAM but the distinguishing factor will lie in the unit's display and internal storage. The first variant will offer 32GB of storage matched with a FullHD display, while the second variant comes with a bigger internal storage amounting to 64GB with QHD display.
Moreover, the Xiaomi Mi 6 will come in a full ceramic body, boasting an amazing 8 million pixel autofocus camera. Meanwhile, there is also a chance that the Xiaomi Mi 6 will follow the footsteps of its predecessor when it comes to editions as well. The same report claims that the up[coming device may also offer three tier editions, including a Standard Edition, a Prime Edition, and a Pro edition. Apparently, the RAM offered by all three variants will remain the same, only changing the display capacity.
Furthermore, the Xiaomi Mi 6 Standard edition will simply be referred to as the Xiaomi Mi 6 and comes with a 1920 x 1080 FullHD display. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi Mi 6 Pro edition is said to come with a whopping 2560 x 1440 QHD display. However, the size and body of the phone were not revealed in the recent leak, according to Android Headlines. Despite the lack of information regarding the latter from the leak, it is said that the Xiaomi Mi 6 Pro Edition will come smaller as compared to the current devices in the market. According to other rumors, the device may come as a 5.2-inch device with a ceramic exterior.
As for the goodies under the hood, the Xiaomi Mi 6 is expected to come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chip, similar to what the Samsung Galaxy S8 is said to have. Moreover, the device is rumored to come with the latest Android 7.0 Nougat fresh from the box. The release date of the Xiaomi Mi 6 is yet to be revealed, however, it is known that the device will not launch during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
