Top Names in Design Come Together through LEGENDS
From May 7 to May 9, top design personalities will come together to celebrate the 6th-year anniversary of LEGENDS of La Cienega. The event entitled “Novel Interiors: Storytelling by Design” will be held at the courtyards and showrooms of the La Cienega Design Quarter in Los Angeles.
The three-day event will feature 40 designers who were invited to transform the window storefronts and showrooms of the LCDQ following books and novels as their design theme.
Some of the featured designers and their works include Timothy Corrigan who will be working with Fuller and Roberts to recreate “Valley of the Dolls”. Diane Von Furstenberg will be designing from “Out of Africa” with The Rug Company. Jeffrey Hitchcock’s work will be inspired by “Fahrenheit 451” at Downtown. “The Invisible Man” will be Sheldon Harte’s theme at the Mecox display while Paul Williger will be designing the Renaissance Design Studio with “The House of Mirth.”The celebration will start with an exclusive Gala sponsored by Coldwell Banker Previews International and 1stdibs. It will be followed by two days of discussions, entertainment, education and networking activities.
Featured events include the Elle Decor Power Lunch and Architectural Digest Tribute Party on May 8 and the Veranda Lunch and Veranda Closing Party on May 9. Showrooms will be open to the public and give them the opportunity to meet with textile and rug designer Analisse Taft, see the new Jacques Garcia Collection of Baker Furniture and the “Dark Matter” exhibition by Dougall Paulson. Authors of design books such as Gary McBournie, Jay Jeffers, Hutton Wilkinson, Sussana Salk, Suzanne Kasler, Timoth Corrigan and Todd Nickey will also be there for the booksigning event.Tickets are sold at $275 for a two-day VIP Pass while the one-day pass will be at $175. Proceeds of the sale will go to Habitat for Humanity Greater Los Angeles Chapter and the La Cienega Design Quarter Beautification Fund.
