Women History Month calls for change and awareness, as Adobe hopes to break down the gender barrier. Instances of discrimination against women are still evident today, even in their portrayal in digital photography.

While it might take some time before prejudice against women starts to fade away, Adobe is taking initiative in speeding up the process. According to the Adobe blog, the innovative software company is making some major changes to their Stock application, in celebration of Women History Month.

Adobe Stock is a resource dump containing millions of images for creative uses, specially useful for Adobe's own software programs. However, since it's Women History Month, it's only appropriate for the image repository to receive a more gender-equal update.

Which is why various Adobe Stock contributors have submitted images that tries to seal the gap that the gender barrier generates. The new set of Adobe Stock images will portray women in ways that are devoid of stereotypes and cliches.

Women History Month helps raise awareness of gender-biases and cases of misogyny. With recent changes like the ones made in Adobe Stock, women from around the world hope to fill the gender gap that's preventing equality and consideration.

Adobe Stock contributor Hellen Fields explained that featuring women in "unconventional roles" could help fill-in that gap. Other contributors celebrate Women History Month by featuring images that shows how the world is seen from a female perspective.

As a matter of fact, empowered women professionals know the struggles of climbing up the corporate ladder when gender-biases are at play. According to DailyPress, women in the corporate world are aware that they are in a "male-dominated" field.

However, through women empowerment and following their vision of success, women are able to reach positions of power in their respective fields. With events such as Women History Month, we are reminded that, while gender discrimination still exists, recent efforts in neutralizing it shows that this won't be lingering for long.
