New York ICFF 2014 Experienced A Boost in Attendance Compared to 2013
The 26th annual International Contemporary Furniture Fair held last May 17-20 at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center saw a boost in attendance with its visitors and exhibitors.
This year, 629 companies exhibited their products which is an 18% increase from 2013. ICFF 2014 was also able to garner around 31,421 visitors comprised of architects, interior designers and developers who are the main market of U.S. design.
ICFF 2014’s main exhibitors included the British European Design Group (BEDG) which has more than 30 participating companies. The Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM), Design Philippines was made up of 15 companies, making a huge comeback after a 13-year hiatus. Other main exhibitor contingents come from the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, The Furniture Society (U.S), Brazilian Furniture, Ceramics of Italy, Furniture New York, Interiors from Spain, Inside Norway, Portugal Brands and Japan External Trade Organization.
According to the organization, some of the major crowd-drawers were the updated favorites such as the ICFF Talks, ICFF Editors Awards, ICFF Studio, ICFF Public Day and the ICFF Opening Night Party, among others. Major anniversaries from design legends such as Bernhardt Design 125th year, Stephanie Forsythe and Todd MacAllen’s 10th ICFF anniversary and designboom’s 10th-year collaboration with ICFF also added charm to the event and made it even more inviting.
As ICFF approaches its 30th year, it also created unique partnerships, innovative alliances and new programs. ICFF partnered with the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and succeeding ICFF events will cover the ASID imprimatur which will become a major part of ICFF’s educational talks. ICFF will also continue its partnership with Architizer’s A+Awards to expand its reach in digital design and the global design community in general.
ICFF 2015 is set to take place on May 16-19, 2015 at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center
