Prince Harry revealed his mental health struggles to "Mad World," including the unprocessed grief after the death of his mother. He gave the remarks during the candid talk with Bryony Gordon in the first episode of her new podcast of the show.

Harry said during the half-hour conversation with Gordon that he spent most of his life saying "I'm fine." He also discussed the mental health charity that he leads, Heads Together, alongside Prince William and his wife, Princess Kate, according to the People.

The 32-year-old also revealed that the loss of his mom Princess Diana from an accident in 1997 tremendously affected his personal and public life. The attention he gained on the public platform began endangering his mental health.

"I can safely say that losing my mom at the age of 12 and therefore shutting down all of my emotions for the last 20 years has had quite a serious effect on not only my personal life but also my work as well," Harry said. After many years of trying to avoid the problem and instead, turning into "a problem" throughout his 20s, Harry said that he experienced two years of "total chaos."

It was at this time he began seeking professional help for counseling, with the huge support of his brother while he was 28, according to the Telegraph. He revealed in the talk that he had been seeing a therapist multiple times, and also picked up boxing as a coping mechanism. "I was on the verge of punching someone," he revealed.

He called it a 2½-3 years long process. However, Harry continued saying that he has now fully recovered and is able to take my work and private life much seriously.

Most importantly, he is now able to dedicate himself and his focus into the things that really make a difference, Harry said. The prince says that he is now in a "good place."
