DJ Zedd’s $18.4 Million Modern Mansion Takes the Spotlight in Encino’s Most Expensive Home Sale of the Year
The Russian-German DJ and music producer Anton Zaslavski, better known as Zedd, has purchased Odin, a luxury mansion at 16036 Woodvale Road in Encino's Royal Oaks enclave, for $18.4 million.
In recent years, DJ Zedd has looked for a home in Encino. In September 2021, he paid $15.2 million for a home at 3904 Valley Meadow Road that had previously been owned by celebrities Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner. Jae Omar designed the 15,000-square-foot modern spec mansion, and the sale set the 2021 record for the most expensive residential sale in the upscale San Fernando Valley suburb. The Clarity producer recently paid $18.4 million for ODIN, another modern space designed by Jae Omar, breaking the record for Encino's most expensive home sale in 2023.
Earlier this year, Zedd made a $18.4 million profit on a Benedict Canyon house. He purchased a home in early 2018 for $16 million but has been on the market since the summer of 2021. According to Dirt, the selling price at the time was $26.5 million (1.45 billion). Still, it was reduced over time, and the house was thrown around different real estate brokerages before being eventually purchased by award-winning television writer-producer Kenya Barris. The listing agents for that home at 3000 Benedict Road were Kramer and Buss of Hilton & Hyland.
The surrounding Encino neighborhood is known for its low home prices. According to Redfin, the median price for a home in the San Fernando Valley enclave in October was around $1.4 million.

Design Features of the Mansion
Zedd is a fan of Omar's work, and it's not difficult to see why. Scandinavian design influences Odin's design, with dominant motifs such as geometric white walls and wood paneling. The property mixes farmhouse architecture and modern textures "infused with Nordic inspiration," fitting for its name after the Norse war god.
The 18,000-square-foot modern farmhouse is warm and discreet, sitting on just under an acre of land. Unpolished timbers, such as aromatic cedar and knotty wood, are used to panel the floors, walls, countertops, shelving, and beamed ceilings. There are eight bedrooms and 12 bathrooms throughout the house, as well as a 600-square-foot one-bedroom, one-bathroom guesthouse. Massive walls and floor-to-ceiling glass doors allow for a seamless transition from the inside to the outside, bringing in Southern California sunshine and views of the surrounding natural scenery.
The house has a library, a theater, a glass-enclosed wine cellar, and a bowling alley. Other amenities on the grounds include a Junior Olympic-sized pool with a sunken fire pit, several lounges, a wellness center with a spa and gym, and a meditation area.
The sale of Odin comes after the January 2023 sale of its sibling home, known as Onin, located at 16041 Woodvale Road. The 18,500-square-foot house brought $18 million at auction. Eran Gispan served as the primary architect for Onin and Odin, two residences constructed by JVE Development that have some similarities. Jae Omar designs both homes.
