LG G3 Variant, G Vista: Mid-Range Specs In Flagship-Like Design?

The Verizon LG G Vista may be the next mid-range offering from the South Korean tech giant, Digital Trends reports.

In a new leak, @evleaks offered up a shot of a device that looks a lot like the current LG flagship, the G3 - but don't be fooled, the device's specs appear to be nothing like a flagship, according to the publication.

The smartphone is being tipped for a 5.7-inch screen with 720p resolution, a quad-core Snapdragon 400 and 1GB of RAM - quality, but not in the same class as the G3. The G Vista appears to feature the same controls, but with a single LED flash instead of the Dual-LED packed in the G3. However, it does look like it will offer laser autofocus. Furthermore, the smartphone is being rumored for an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 1.3-megapixel camera on the front, a 3200mAh battery, 8GB of storage space, and a MicroSD card slot.

n comparison, the G3 comes with a 5.5-inch Quad HD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage (with microSD card slot) and a 13MP rear-facing camera with OIS+ and Laser AutoFocus. It also features a 2.1MP front-facing camera, a removable 3000mAh battery and Android 4.4.

Android-Headlines previously reported that the G Vista would arrive on Verizon as a less powerful and likely cheaper sibling of the G3. The website notes it could be an attractive option for consumers who want a smartphone that has a quality design minus the flagship specs and price tag.

According to a Phone Arena report earlier this week citing the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) website, LG filed for the trademarks of four G3 variants: G3 Lite, G3 Vigor, G3 Vista and G3 Beat.

The G3 Beat launched as a Chinese Telecom exclusive this week, but is believed to be getting a global rollout later.
