Target Canada has announced new business plans to improve their merchandise structure and brand experience by listening to their customer needs.

The company continues to seek talented designers for collaborations and is set to expand home decor options with Canadian native Sarah Richardson, a celebrity interior designer and television personality on HGTV, with plans to have the new collection on floors in Fall 2015.

Richardson already has a personal product line of custom living pieces, a textile collection with Kravet, and has generated brand partnerships internationally, along with the latest venture to solely be sold at Target Canada.

"We are thrilled to be working with Sarah on this exclusive new home décor line. It's exactly the kind of creative and exciting design offering that only Target can deliver," said John Butcher, senior vice president of merchandising for Target Canada.

Not only is Richardson a vital force in enhancing Target's product strategy, but further partnerships include brands such as the Roots, Nick & Nora, E.L.F, Ecover and French Bull. The plan will further broaden product assortments, including sleepwear, slippers, cosmetics, home appliances, and eco-friendly lifestyle goods.

"We've been listening to our guests and taking a hard look at where we need to improve. We've uncovered the root cause of some of our challenges and are focused on three main areas: improving in-stocks, sharpening our pricing strategy and enhancing our merchandise assortment," said Mark Schindele, president of Target Canada.

Target Canada also aims to enlarge the amount of holiday goods for the upcoming season, as well as improving on a maternity line and plus size collection. And let's not forget the launch of ready-to-wear designer Joseph Altuzarra's Target collaboration, which will be available worldwide on Sept. 14.
