HTC One M8: T-Mobile Model Receiving Android 4.4.3 Update Download
HTC One M8 users on T-Mobile have begun receiving Android 4.4.3, Android Central reports.
The 582MB update download to version 2.22.531.5 is the same that has been popping up for users in India and Europe the past few weeks. Along with 4.4.3, the update also offers 4.4.4 security fixes for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and cellular network performance optimizations and updates for stock HTC applications and Sense, according to the publication.
If you haven't gotten it yet, be patient as these things can take a little time.
A special One M8 may also be on the way soon.
A full alleged specs list for the rumored Windows Phone variant of the HTC One M8 has surfaced via WPCentral.
The device is expected to be Windows 8.1-based with some identical specs to the HTC flagship smartphone, including a 5-inch full-HD Super LCD 3 display and a dual rear camera setup that matches up a 4-UltraPixel camera with a 5-megapixel front camera. Additional specifications allegedly include a 2600mAh battery, 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of inbuilt storage, a microSD card slot and Nano-SIM support.
WPCentral adds that the W8 also features the same dimensions (36x70.6x9.35mm) as the M8 with key additional features such as HTC Boomsound, the HTC Dot View case and possibly some WP8.1 features like Cortana, NDTV reports.
The device could be unveiled at HTC's upcoming Aug. 19 NYC event.
As 9 to 5 Google notes, another recent report that indicated a feature list of Windows Phone 8.1 lists "support for smart cases" on the change log.
An earlier comment from Nick Parker, Microsoft's vice president of OEM partners, similarly suggested the company could be planning an HTC One M8 with a Windows Phone redesign:
"I'd love to break some news here if I could, Parker said at Computex. "But instead I'll just say that Microsoft will continue to have a great relationship with HTC. New things are coming, so get excited."
As Gizmodo UK notes, trusted leaker @evleaks has also tipped an HTC One "W8," which he claims will be a US Verizon exclusive. Evleaks also added that the device will feature the same BoomSound and Duo Camera specs packed into the flagship M8.
The One M8 packs a 5-inch, full HD 1080p screen, a 2.3 GHz Snapdragon 801 processor, Sense 6.0, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory and a 2800 mAh battery, microSD support and three cameras, including two on the back.
