Kate Middleton Expecting A Baby Girl? Design Choices Fuel Rumors Of A Princess On The Way

Speculations on Kate Middleton’s second pregnancy seem to point out that the next royal baby is really a girl. The Duchess of Cambridge has been reported to have selected three shades of rose-tinted hues from high-end paint brand Annie Sloan as the color for the nursery.

Earlier, the expectant Duchess was spotted shopping for pink baby clothes and now, feminine paint samples are making their way towards the royal couple’s home in Anmer Hall.

According to Daily Mail, the luxurious Oxford-based interior design firm Annie Sloan has supplied paint samples specifically that of a girly pink in the royal couple’s 10-bedroom residence.

The paint samples are reportedly named Henrietta, Antoinette and Emile. According to descriptions, Henrietta is a “beautiful rich complex pink with a hint of lilac”. Antoinette is a “soft pale pink with a hint of brown” which is also quite reminiscent to that of “old-fashioned roses and the color of old plaster.” Meanwhile, Emile is a “warm soft aubergine color with pink and red undertones.”

All of these paints are said to cost higher than uppermarket brands such as Farrow and Ball. Farrow and Ball has earlier released a shade of rose called “Middleton Pink.” At $28 ( £18.95) per liter, the price tag for the paints are indeed worthy to be put in the royal nursery.

Also adding to rumors about the Duchess’ pregnancy is the completion date of the project, which is reportedly April 25, 2015. This might be a hint on Kate Middleton's due date.

Both Kate Middleton and Prince William claim they do not know their second baby’s gender. However, with these selections in baby clothes, nursery paint and the rumored completion of the nursery, the speculations for having a princess are at 4-5 odds and 11-10 for a prince.

Kensington Palace remains mum on the gender of the second royal baby. A representative for Annie Sloan said that they “cannot confirm or deny” the reports on the paint samples and as to whether they have supplied paints to Anmer Hall.
