Samsung Wants to be on Trump’s Good Side And Opens A New Plant in the US
Samsung may be considering to open a plant in the United States to be on Trump’s good side. Although nothing is confirmed yet, the company is evaluating how this type of investment will be good for their customers. If things go as planned, the new investment will also bring many new jobs for the U.S.
Axios reported of Samsung wanting to be on Trump’s good side have been circulating online and this will be done by starting a huge investment in the country. In an official statement released by Samsung before the elections, they said “We continue to evaluate new investment needs in the U.S.” and could be investing $1 billion that will also bring in new jobs for the people in the area.
This news that was first published by Reuters resulted to President Trump, who is known to be an Android user, thanking the company and welcoming the idea via Twitter. The Twitter post includes a report from Reuters and Axios with the title “Trump effect: Samsung may build U.S. factory” and saying he would love to have Samsung in the country. Although there are no official statements yet released by Samsung, the reports mention their sources are from someone close to the matter.
During President Donald Trump’s election campaign, he has always been vocal about making more jobs for U.S. by having companies open factories in the country. And although he didn’t directly said he will pressure companies like Apple or Samsung to do such investment, the South Korean’s plan is exactly what he wants to happen for America.
Samsung is not the only mobile phone company that’s considering to open a plant in United States. Reports last month mention that another South Korean company, LG, is also considering the possibility and is eyeing on Tennessee as a possible place where to do it.
