Netflix is one of the best places to go to if one wants to watch movies, series, documentaries and almost any kind of videos. Subscribers used to need to have an internet connection before they can watch the videos. But recently, Netflix now allows downloading videos so viewers can continue watching even without the internet.
This new feature is supported by most videos available on Netflix and users that have completed a video download can watch it anytime they want to, with or without the internet. Viewers can watch it on a train, airplane, in a secluded area as long as they will watch it from the same device where the download is done.
To start downloading videos, users just need to open their Netflix app and search for a video they want to watch. Netflix has over thousands of video selections for their user that varies from children's show, documentaries, tv shows, movies and lately original content like “Stranger Things”, “Trollhunters”, “Riverdale” and much more.
Once the user found a video they want to watch in the future, the viewer just needs to look for the download icon which will mean that video is allowed for offline watching, according to Tom's Guide. If the icon is there, users just need to click the icon to start the download. Unfortunately, if the icon is not found, the video is just not available offline and there is no adjustment in the setting to fix it.
According to The Verge, users will see the progress of their video download on the blue bar that appears at the bottom. Once the video is done downloading, the download icon will change to a downloaded icon which means it can then be watched offline. Users can go to the My Downloads section to see all the videos they have downloaded and delete the ones they are done with.
