Ericsson Announces The Coming Of The World’s First 5G Platform In 2020

Ericsson has just announced that the company has already built the world's first 5G platform. The company wants their technology to be a tool to help telecom companies to convert their network to 5G capabilities. This will not only enhance their network features but also improve the maintenance, management, and distribution of the 5G network.

According to a press release from Ericsson, the new 5G Plug-Ins will have many useful features including massive and multi-user MIMO, RAN virtualization, intelligent connectivity, and latency reduction. With this technology, Ericsson's Senior Vice President said: "5G will be driven by new use cases requiring higher performance." The company already has plans for the 5G plugin like an augmented reality to perform remote surgery, automated cars without driving records, and much more.

Android Headlines said the new 5G Plug-in comes with many impressive features that no other technology in the market. For instance, its multi-user MIMO allows the plug-in to transfer data to different users at the same time. Then its massive MIMO plug-in that improves the network's capacity and coverage. It also comes with RAN virtualization that boosts the network's performance and efficiency. The intelligent connectivity allows the device to route data application requirements while the latency reduction provides better frame structure to allow instant network access. Moreover, it also minimizes the time-to-content but still allowing real-time communication which will be very useful for smart vehicles.

The 5G plugin is intended for use of different devices, radio access, cloud and of course mobile handsets. As of today, its technology has already been sent for field testing not only in the United States but also in Japan, Sweden, and South Korea since 2015. And if that's not enough good news, the plug-in has already attained a downlink of up to 25 Gbps and should be available to the commercial market within the year.
