The Hotel Show Saudi Arabia will demonstrate how family, business and religious tourism affect the country’s hotel designs. The growing trend has already been evident in cities with huge developments such as Makkah and Riyadh.
Getty’s regional director for Middle and North Africa, Mustapha Chbinou said, “The Saudi market caters to its own needs, with the only real impact from external audiences coming through business and religious tourism.” He added, “The Saudi hotel market has traditionally been dominated by furnished apartments, whereas we are now seeing a move towards a more traditional hotel layout.”
According to Chbinou, this evolution is influenced by the country’s cultural traditions wherein businessmen often travel with their families which are commonly large in size. The growing hotel trend is looking towards bigger hotel room and the increasing popularity of hotel suites to accommodate the need.
The event will provide a venue for hotel design companies such as Getty’s to show their design solutions for the Saudi hospitality market. They already foresee a huge need for efficient hotel spaces which will not only address the needs of traveling businessmen and their families but will also have the capacity to accommodate the estimated 10-million religious travelers going to Mekkah and the increasing rate of Riyadh business communities.
Christine Davidson, this year’s Hotel Show Saudi Arabia even director, said, “This year, we have seen a lot more interior companies taking part in the event, as the influx of opportunities, together with the increase in international hotel chains looking to invest in the market brings the need for hospitality interior design to evolve.”
The Hotel Show Saudi Arabia will run from April 22 to April 24 at the Jeddah Center for Forums and Events.
