Sophie Azouaou has recently brought her message on how to mix up luxury and design sustainability during the celebration of Earth Day in San Francisco. Azouaou is a the founder of Step Into My World, a stylish and leading green living media platform and she is also a part of the Board of Directors for the Earth Day SF event.
Azouaou took center stage in the gathering of more than 15,000 people. She was joined by other industry leaders including Bill McKibben, 350.org Board chairman and author of the book “The End of Nature.”
Azouaou is known for her advocacy in living green. Outside of the limelight, she is known to follow healthy and fit lifestyle. She has also gained recognition in the industry for giving seminars on green and sustainable living and started “Step Into My Green World”. She was also awarded by Mayor Edwin Lee last April 19 for her continuous dedication in promoting sustainable lifestyle.
Azouaou also practices interior design and has her own firm called Sophicate Interiors in San Francisco which specialized in high-rise and green design. She is also a member of the Global Green USA and the Sustainable Furnishings council. Azouaou was also featured as the lead design during the Green Design Showrise and has won Houzz.com’s “Best of 2012” for her green remodeling projects which were showcased in the website.
In an interview after the Earth Day Event, Azouaou stresses out the points on how to become more ecologically-friendly. Her advice range from water conservation, lesser electricity consumption, supporting local produce from local farmers and using the latest technology in conserving natural resources.
