Gauri Khan Ventures in Dubai
Gauri Khan, a producer, an interior designer and wife of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, has recently launched her signature line in Dubai through international design and architecture group- The First Ferry.
Khan is well known in being a businesswoman in India. She is the co-founder of Red Chillies Entertainment along with her husband. She also produced some of SRK’s films in the country. And recently, Gauri Khan opened “The Design Cell” in Mumbai which is Khans own interior design company and retail store.
Khan first developed an interest in the interior design profession while decorating her residence in Mumbai. After which, she collaborated with Sussane Khan, Hrithik Roshan’s former wife, in working on projects for exclusive properties. She also worked with Sussanne Khan in establishing The Charcoal Company, a furniture design retail store, in 2012.
Gauri and Suzanne Khan were last spotted last March in Dubai during the launching of their real-estate project Naira in Goa. Both will still be working on 12 other luxury villas which will be furnished with limited-edition furniture and accessories collection from The Charcoal Project.
Khan’s partner in Dubai, which is The First Ferry, is internationally recognized, with offices in London, Singapore and New York. For The First Ferry, Khan will act as the company’s consultant in designing high-end residences, restaurants, retail spaces, corporate offices, and spas. Aside from that, Khan will also be working on yacht interiors and landscape designs. She also plans on creating her line of furniture and chandeliers within The First Ferry.
During a press conference held in Dubai last May, Khan announced her plans of extending her signature line to jewellery, bag and shoe designs a year after. Khan said, “I have a dream for this signature line and design is my passion. There will be no limit to the possibilities of the extension of my brand with The First Ferry because the future plans are all drawn out with a clear vision.”
A part of Gauri Khan’s earnings through her brand will go to the Gauri Khan Foundation.
