iOS 8's next upcoming beta iteration could not be available to developers until July 8, BGR reports.
The rumored release date for the mobile OS update's download came from the publication's "trusted sources," which Apple Insider notes have relayed reliable information on iOS releases in the past.
A July 8 release would veer from the traditional two-week schedule Apple uses to make these downloads available to developers.
iOS users without a developer account who simply can't wait until the official public iOS 8 update will be pleased to hear a new trick to install the beta 2 iteration has surfaced.
BGR reports that while it can be a risky process, the beta update has a security flaw that allows users to bypass the tech giant's checks for download on supported devices. Users should be warned, however, that they won't be able to connect to iTunes on the device without a developer account and won't be able to retrieve data back from their previous iOS 7 backups. Activation errors and other issues are also possible.
Lastly, those who have downloaded the beta 1 update won't simply be able to download beta 2. Instead, these users will need to switch back to iOS 7.1.1 and then install beta 2.

In case you aren't sure if your device is compatible, the only device that didn't make the final list for iOS 8 compatibility is the iPhone 4, as the update is available for download on the iPhone 5S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5C, iPhone 4S, iPod touch fifth-gen, iPad 2, iPad Air, iPad mini with Retina Display, iPad mini, iPad 4, and iPad 3. As Gotta Be Mobile notes, the iPad 2's inclusion on the list was a mild surprise given Apple's history of leaving devices off of the list after three major updates. It was pretty much a given that the iPhone 4 would not make the final cut, as the smartphone is no longer available in stores and has already received the three updates.
The latest beta version is compatible with the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch as an over the air (OTA) download, as well as through Apple's developer portal.
