Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Features Metal Design, 16MP Camera: Leak
With iPhone 6 rumors suggesting that the next Apple smartphone offerings will come in 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch model options, it appears competitor Samsung is really gearing up for a battle with new devices of its own despite the recent release of the flagship Galaxy S5.
With a premium Galaxy F/S5 Prime/Galaxy Alpha model reportedly in the works for an August release packing a 4.7-inch display and metal body, it appears Sammy has one of the iPhone 6 models covered with a rival.
The latest report, however, suggests the Korean tech giant is also preparing a metal-clad Galaxy Note 4 that will take aim at the iPhone "phablet," according to ET News.
Android Origin reports that Samsung is preparing a Note 4 that will ditch the plastic for metal casing - but just for a premium version. The leak also suggests that the device will feature a flexible display and a 16-megapixel rear facing camera.
While little else is really trickling out recently about the device's specs, it seems likely that it will be launched during the IFA Trade Show - meaning an early September release date.
Specs that have been mentioned in earlier leaks include a 5.7-inch screen (like its predecessor) with a QHD display (which would be about 520 pixels per inch), a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 CPU clocked in at 2.7GHz, a fingerprint scanner and either 3GB or 4GB of RAM. Color options for the device have also been tipped to be gold, black, blue and white.
In comparison, the Galaxy Note 3 features a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen (386 ppi), 3GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel primary camera and 2-megapixel secondary camera and a 1.9GHz processor.
What do you make of the recent Galaxy Note 4 leak? How do you think it would fare vs. a 5.5-inch iPhone 6? Let us in on your thinking with a comment.
