The Samsung logo is displayed at the company's headquarters on December 11, 2012 in Seoul, South Korea. The Galaxy S5 Alpha has allegedly surfaced in comparison photos with the Galaxy S5.

SamMobile has posted new alleged leaked images that show the rumored Samsung Galaxy Alpha vs. the current Sammy flagship, the Galaxy S5.

However, according to the report, the device is more high mid-range than premium, as it has previously been speculated to be. Unlike the LTE-A model, the Alpha reportedly packs a 720p screen, a fingerprint scanner, 32GB of storage (non-removable) and either an Exynos 5 Octa or a Snapdragon 800 processor. These specs, of course, are not flagship quality, to say the least:

"The Galaxy Alpha will be a step above the Galaxy S5 mini and will actually be sold as another watered-down variant of the Galaxy S5," SamMobile writes.

While the publication claims this is the Alpha, it has updated its article to note that this particular one may not be the final design, with the "glossy metal expected to be replaced by a matte finish." SamMobile also added that the device is packing a 4.8-inch display, and not a 4.7-inch as previously rumored.

Meanwhile, GForGames reports that the device may only be available in limited quantity at its launch, GForGames reports.

The publication claims that with Apple controlling most metal case manufacturers in Taiwan and a lack of the manufacturers located in Samsung's home turf of Korea, the company has been forced to look to China for the device's launch - a task the manufacturers in the country will not be able to handle in time for the rumored Aug. 13 release date.

This, of course, also could suggests the smartphone will be a limited-edition handset.

According to ETNews, the device will debut on in August, suggesting the premium smartphone will beat out competitor Apple's unveiling of its new, larger iPhones. The publication adds that the Galaxy Alpha will pack a metal body that looks like a cross between the the Galaxy S5 and the Galaxy Note and will be aimed vs. the flagship competitors the LG G3 and iPhone 6.
