Twitter Analytics Available to Everyone Now
Twitter has released Twitter Analytics, a service that will allow users to check the popularity of their tweets.
On Wednesday, Twitter software engineer, Ian Chan, took to Twitter to make the announcement.
"Absolutely thrilled to open up access to https://analytics.twitter.com to EVERYONE. Check it out, and let us know what you think!" he wrote.
For some time now, only verified users and advertisers were able to check statistics about their Twitter account. Now the service is available to everyone, free of charge.
You can now use the analytics dashboard to check the performance of tweets. This is definitely a useful tool for businesses, and the average user will be able to use it to satisfy their curiosity over who interests in their tweets.
The ability to decipher how many people view an individual tweet has been a fantasy for many users. Who knows, it may provoke users to post more meaningful tweets, or the lack of engagement may promote them to post less.
This service will best fit the feet of journalists, politicians and celebrities looking to gain value from a large crowd of followers.
The analytics service itself is easy to read and allows you to locate whatever tweet had the best engagement. You can also analyze the interests of your followers. This feature will prove valuable to businesses as they can cater to their follower's needs.
"This is designed for the serious tweeter--the journalists, politicians, celebrities and everyone else ... trying to reach a large pool of people," the Wall Street Journal's Digits blog described. "Understanding why some of their tweets didn't gain much traction could help users improve their performance, thus increasing engagement--an important metric that is closely tied to the way advertisers view Twitter as an attractive platform."
The dashboard will be available to all users that have had their accounts for at least 14 days, aren't locked, restricted or suspended.
