7-Year-Old Dylan Beattie Impresses the Art World With Stunning Paintings

At just seven years old, Dylan Beattie is already making waves in the art world with his extraordinary talent for painting and drawing. It may easily be said that Dylan is a prodigy of which the art world may be proud. The Minster Primary School pupil, who has been creating art since he could hold a crayon, recently showcased and sold some of his pieces at the St Laurence Church art sale, contributing proceeds to the church's clock restoration appeal.

Early Artistic Journey and Family Support

Dylan's mother, Poppy-Florence Wakefield, shared her son's early artistic journey. She mentioned that he has been artistic since he was a baby and has been taking art lessons for about a year in Preston, where he goes every Saturday to learn proper techniques. His dedication is evident as he spends most of his time painting, drawing, and doodling. Nature and scenery are among his favorite subjects, although his parents encourage him to explore various styles by visiting art galleries.

Poppy-Florence and Dylan's father, Richard Beattie, are determined to support their son's burgeoning career. They are actively seeking venues to display Dylan's artwork, hoping to find more opportunities for him to participate in charity events. "We are just trying to get Dylan out there but there isn't a lot in Thanet for children his age who are creative. I'm going to try and set up some children's exhibitions," Poppy-Florence explained.

Positive Reception and Future Exhibitions

The response to Dylan's work has been overwhelmingly positive. Mick Cairns, the St Laurence art show organizer, was thrilled to have Dylan's paintings at the event. Poppy-Florence is currently discussing with several local venues to display Dylan's art, including Sugar Rush in Ramsgate and Chartwell House in Broadstairs. Additionally, Dylan is invited to exhibit his work at Mount Ephraim in August.

Reflecting on the St Laurence event, Poppy-Florence remarked, "He did quite well, it has all kind of blown up a bit. People were quite amazed when he said it was his work and he sold a few paintings, putting some money in the pot for the clock restoration, which he was excited about. He wants to do lots more charity events now."

His love for science matches Dylan's passion for art and his interest in arts, adding to his interest in science; his possibilities are numerous. His parents wish for the little boy's performance to be a way to encourage other creative young aspirants within the Thanet region and, at the same time, call for increased provision for children's artistry.
