President Donald Trump defended Presidential daughter Ivanka Trump on Feb. 8 on how Nordstrom dropped clothing and accessories line last week. Other major retailers are following not doing business with her.
The President expressed in defense that the young businesswoman is treated unfairly by Nordstrom. According to Fox News Entertainment, Nordstrom spokesperson did not mention if this is their permanent decision. There are just progressions on how they sell and cut off 10 percent of outperforming Clothing and accessories line and brands. In half of 2016, her brand declined from selling.
Contrary to that statement of Nordstrom, Senior Director of Marketing of the clothing and accessories line, Rosemary Young said, "The Ivanka Trump brand continues to expand across categories and distribution with increased customer support, leading us to experience significant year-over-year revenue growth in 2016." The company stands the measures of their commitment not just to gain and sell but to stand on standard and principles of ethical practice. This is a sentiment expressing that the business is in fact expanding.
Young added contradicting to Nordstrom's steps, "The women behind the brand represent a diverse group of professionals and we are proud to say that the Ivanka Trump clothing and accessories line continue to embody the principles upon which it was founded. It is a company built to inspire women with solution-oriented offerings, created to celebrate and service the many aspects of their lives."
T.J. Maxx and Marshalls parent company TJX issued specific instructions to their personnel. The instruction wrote, "Effective immediately, please remove all Ivanka Trump merchandise from features and mix into. All Ivanka Trump signs should be discarded," published on New York Times. Their decision is influenced by Nordstrom on which other retail stores are following affecting the clothing and accessories line.
Macy is also under pressure to the situation following on their customer's reaction to Nordstrom's move to drop Ivanka Trump's clothing and accessories line. Business Insider reported that there is a massive boycott coming and retail stores are avoiding that situation.
