Keeping Room On Every American Home Part Of Interior Designer's Perspective

Interior designers are bringing back an eighteenth-century old approach in providing a safe and cozy space in American homes in this era. The keeping room is brought back as an attractive feature of every house today.

Tracing its roots, over 246 years ago, Colonial American family tends to gather around a single fireplace to keep warm, while someone is using the same fireplace cooking their meal. Along the years, in order to provide a convenient space when keeping warm and for the chef to move around, was the creation of a Keeping room. Young interior designers are inspired by this concept and they tend to bring it back in this generation, reliving two centuries in modern times of an American home.

Edward Andrews Homes builder Megan Harris said in a statement on Fox News, "You've heard the old adage that the kitchen is the heart of the home; the keeping room gives you a place to comfortably seat your family and close friends while you prep a meal, cook, or clean." This is why kitchen islands are made because most clients choose the comfort zone in the kitchen of that modern-day American home while the family gathers. Among many clients, interior designers are working relatively on floor plans to provide that very space as a keeping room.

Harris added, "Keeping rooms add value to homes in most markets and are seen as a huge plus I certainly don't see them as being a must-have feature that adds value to the home in every case, but it could be that extra something that could convince the right buyer to bite." In a published note with The Advocate, Every American home, regardless of how simple the design is or how extravagant it can be, homeowners still tend to find a cozy place inside their house. This type of artistry is the new trend that every interior designer keeps.
