iPhone 8 just might be the most expensive handset that Apple may release in the market. The much-awaited smartphone that is speculated to retail at $1000 may not be the only phone the company will release this year. Apple is said to release three different phone in various sizes.
According to Mirror.co.uk, the three devices Apple will release this year will be two iPhone 7 variants called the iPhone 7 Plus with 5.5-inch size and the iPhone 7s with a 4.7 inch, and lastly iPhone 8 with 5.8-inch size. One reason that sets iPhone 8 apart from its predecessor and justifies its market price is its OLED display that’s built all across the full front of the handset.
Independent.co.uk published an article that reports OLED display to be twice the price of an LCD display which is what the latest iPhones today are equipped with. In addition, the upcoming iPhone will come with better memory from its last model which means additional capital cost. And if that’s not enough, Apple further enhances their iPhone 8 with stainless steel sides and glass panels in the front and back, according to rumors.
The only thing that iPhone 8 will no longer have is the home button that’s present in all the previous iPhone models. Even the buttons on the side of the traditional iPhones will no longer be seen in iPhone 8 as it will be replaced by touch-sensitive buttons. The new iPhone model will instead have a “smooth black monolith” front design.
Another improvement that many are expecting for iPhone 8 is the battery life of the phone and facial recognition via a 3D-sensing technology. Apple is yet to announce iPhone 8’s release date and the complete specifications and features of the new phone but many are hoping it will be anytime soon.
