Starz just announced the season 3 of “Outlander” will finally air this September. Although no specific release date has been given, the new season is confirmed to have 13 episodes. It has been months since the last episode of the series aired so fans are delighted to hear that the series will be back.
Last June 2016, “Outlander” has been renewed for two more seasons, 3 and 4, and it is only now that a date has been given for its release. The third season of the series will also be based on the third book of its best-selling book series by author Diana Gabaldon according to Deadline. This coming March, the series will continue filming the season to South Africa from its home in Scotland to shoot scenes of sea voyages. It so happens that the sea scenes will be shot on the same set where the “Black Sails” series also shot their scenes. The filming for season 3 already started last September and will finish this June.
Starz acknowledges how much wait the "Outlander series’ fans have to wait so the president of Starz programming, Carmi Zlotnik, said we feel it is important to allow the production the time and number of episodes needed to tell the story of the Voyager book in its entirety,” She explains that the story of the book is huge so they want to give only the best show to its fans and a return on September is the way to make it possible.
In "Outlander" season 3, fans can expect the story to continue with Claire and her journey in life as reported by ET Online. She is now pregnant with Jaime’s child while struggling with her last marriage with Frank. Jamie, on the other hand, is having a hard time getting over the Culloden battle and losing Claire. They’ve been apart for a while now but both are still having a hard time living without each other.
