Interior Designer of the Abu Dhabi Presidential Palace Opens Firm in Dubai
Wilson Associates, considered the world’s fastest growing interior design firm, recently opened its Dubai headquarters.
The US-based firm is currently one of Dubai’s major forces in the interior design industry. The Burj Al Arab and The One & Only Royal Mirage are just two out of more than 3000 iconic international hotels designed by the firm. Currently, the company is also working their luxurious creativity in the interiors of the Abu Dhabi Presidential Palace.
According to Olivier Chavy, Qilson Associate’s chief executive, their work in the Abu Dhabi will have the most luxurious interior design one can imagine. “It will be more than iconic, it will be a signature.” Chavy said.
The company’s decision to establish a Dubai office is based on their clientele demography. Chavy cited that 55% of the work done by the company comes from Dubai and thus, there is a need to set up shop within the emirate.
“Dubai and the Gulf Area is the only place on earth I know where you have such a global clientele and all those clients have different background, different cultures, different levels of expectations,” Chavy said.
Chaby also noted that Dubai is the hub for all cultural differences and has made it a point to address all of these differences. Chavy considers Dubai as three to five years ahead of the hotel design curve. He also foresees that it will continue to encourage the establishment of more iconic buildings.
Currently, the company is working on its branding to establish Wilson Associates as a brand. It has also recently collaborated with East China Architectural Design & Research Institute (Ecadi), one of the world’s biggest architectural firms.
Wilson Associates started out in 1971 in Dallas and has established offices within India, Shanghai and Singapore.
