The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 recall was the company's response to the global report of defects with the product on Nov 2016. However, amidst the long time recall, Samsung plans to release refurbished phones back, but on a different market mainstream.
After the repercussion of the exploding mobile phone controversies, the story of Samsung Galaxy Note 7 does not end. Soon, it will be available for consumers in Asia, particularly Vietnam and India. Safety measures have been altered by the developer incorporating unexploding smaller batteries in the gadget. Originally the phone had 3,500mah battery and this time the alteration capacity now has 3,000 and 3,200mAh, Reuters reported.
This move minimizes losses of the company after it recalled all Samsung Galaxy Note 7 units on a global scale. The necessary investigation was done internally and traced that battery defects from the manufacturer by Samsung subsidiary Samsung SDI. The first round of the conclusion stated that the negative electrode was deflected and they saw that on the upper-right corner of the battery compartment.
With the remaining 2.5 million units left, Samsung Galaxy Note 7 did not just get battery capacity alteration but as well with its casing. In response to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission and in partnership with carriers and retailers across the borders, including Europe, the company chooses to no longer sell these units in the US and European market.
According to Samsung, in adherence to the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Refund and Exchange programs, there is over 96 percent of the device sold in the US that was returned. Samsung also released a developed software to further enhance participation of the said program revitalizing a strengthened measure for safety.
Samsung Galaxy Note 7 shaped up in 2016 as the gadget of the year and the company still aims to preserve that reputation. Consumers from India and Vietnam and neighboring countries in Asia will have their own story with the experience they will have with this refurbished mobile phone.
