Ono Cycle, a start up company, has just released a series of wood-made wall mounts for bicycles. Their latest product does not only tidy up an area, it could even make the bike look like a work of art.
Bicycle owners who are limited on space and does not want to leave theirs chained up outside the apartment can consider using the stylish wall mount. The handcrafted rack is made out of sustainable red oak trees that are harvested in Wisconsin, Dezeen reported.
The Ono wall mounts contain a slot where the frame of the bike sits on. There is also an extra space for small accessories for the bike. The wood grains and varying tones provide each mount their unique characteristic. Wood dye, linseed oil, shellac and beeswax are used for its finish.
The L.A.-based company only creates the wood rack when someone orders it, so it could take up to two weeks for processing. The maximum weight it can carry is 35 lbs and price starts at $68. The design includes a York and diamond-shaped one, and comes in natural, ebony and walnut brown colors. Ono Cycle also offers wooden handle bars.
Ono Bikes, a another startup company based in Serbia, previously made public that they are offering a custom-made cruiser e-bike called Archont Electro. The company claims that their bike can go up to 50 mph (80km/h), according to Bike Radar.
The e-bike is consist of stainless steel frame and fork and the 72-volt battery is enclosed on a carbon fiber fuel-tank looking box. The Archont's power comes from the 7Kw motor mounted on the 26-inch rear wheel, while the front contains 700c sized wheel. It also comes with Schwalbe's Big Apple tires, Brooks saddle for the seats and four-piston hydraulic discs for the brakes.
The Ono Archont Electro tips the scale at 55 kg (121 lbs.) but can still cover 62 miles (99 km.) on a single charge. The company also creates a 100 percent human-powered version of their Archont (no motor). The actual prices for the bicycles are not listed on their website, but it is believed that it might cost a small fortune compared to other ordinary looking bicycles.
