New App Features Distress Call Feature To Help Detained Immigrants
President Donald Trump has made raids more enforced in the last month, causing the raids of hundreds of undocumented immigrants. These people may feel like they have little say in the matter, and that there is nearly nothing that they can do once they have been detained.
Fortunately, a new app is being developed that can help these undocumented immigrants when they need it the most. It is nearly impossible to tell when and where a raid will take place and if one is fated to be detained, there are many responsibilities left behind that definitely need to be catered to. For instance, children that need to be picked up from school, pets that need to be fed, and more. The new app by Huge, Notifica can make the processes easier with just one tap.
According to Fast Codesign, Huge has created the app Notifica which will launch during the SXSW this week. The said app will help those who are caught in raids to send an instant notification to their lawyers, relatives, and friends. This is made possible by having a pre-written text message that will be sent out to the contacts on one's phone.
In a situation as stressful as a raid, the urgency to inform everyone is of the essence, and Notifica makes it possible to do so, thus triggering and a prepared emergency plan in just one tap.
Apparently, having a lawyers phone number listed in one's address book is not enough preparation for a raid. There are other people that need to know if one has been detained, especially those who rely on the detained person. Ultimately, Huge's Notifica will serve as a huge help to those caught in such an unpredictable situation.
Huge's Notifica boasts a rather simple user interface whereas all the user has to do is to create an account. The latter requires on to enter their name, and phone number followed by the pre-written personal message to be sent out.
Once everything has been set up, it will be impossible to modify to information saved in Notifica. From then on, once the app is accessed, a large button will appear that will trigger the app to send out the emergency messages. The moment that the messages have been sent, everything is deleted from the device.
However, in the situation that the user has no access to a mobile phone when placed in such a dire situation, Huge is already working on a backup plan in the form of a hotline that can remove activate Notifica.
