Huawei P9 Nougat and its P9 plus variant has reached a major milestone, but the company now faces some tough challenges before achieving smartphone dominance. The Chinese tech giant is now enjoying the fruits of success, with the rising numbers of their smartphone sales.
The tech corporation hopes that their Huawei P10 and P10 Plus model sales reach the 10 million mark as well. Huawei was originally aiming for a 10 million milestone for the Huawei P9 Nougat smartphone model.
However, the P9 and P9 plus sales number surpassed that expectation, as the popular line-up has now reached a massive 12 million mark, according to GSMArena. While this is already an amazing feat from a Chinese company that is dominating even the American market, Huawei is not stopping there.
Huawei CEO Richard Yu is planning for his company to reach the number 2 spot in the global smartphone market, in just two years. That's not all, Yu hinted that Huawei hopes to be the number one smartphone maker in the world, in five years time.
That is certainly a bold and quite ambitious statement, but with the current milestones that the China-based tech giant is achieving, they are well on their way to global dominance. However, before they would even reach that position, they would need to get over some tough roadblocks.
According to CKGSB, one of the roadblocks that they will face is the Trump administration. In order for them to be a competitive force in the U.S market, they would need to get through an administration who promised to be "tough" on China. As long as they produce models such as the Huawei P9 Nougat, their chances of success are looking a lot better.
Although it's reported that Huawei is having difficulty penetrating the U.S market due to their lack of support from carriers such as AT&T, Verizon and so on. Regardless, American buyers still buy handsets like the Huawei P9 Nougat and the Huawei P10 even if they have to buy them through online outlets, because of the quality of these smartphone models alone.
