Discovering Architectural Beauty in the "Colgate Bubble"
Within the isolated hamlet of Hamilton, N.Y., where the tranquil hills and scenic plains are enshrouded by greenness, the distinguished "Colgate Bubble" creates an environment that combines aesthetic splendor and intellectual superiority for the students. Inside this idyllic setting, the campus of Colgate University is an example of architectural integrity and artistic magnificence, which is decorated by the varying historic and modern structures that take your breath away and make you say, 'Wow! '
Amid the spectacular architecture facilities, Colgate Architecture Club is an active platform where students lead and are united in creative, intelligent, and cohesive relationships. At the helm serving as the club president is senior Carly Kleinberg, alongside co-vice presidents seniors Charlotte Winton and junior Maggie Manzella. The club carries an aura of devotion and commitment exemplified by its members, thus zealously pursuing its core mission, promoting educational and community growth among its members.
Nurturing Growth and Connections Beyond Academics
Kleinberg's path with the club began during her first year when the pandemic made virtual meetings necessary to the point where all activities with people were conducted online. However, architectural studies became Kleinberg's passion, making this discipline like a combination of so many disciplines: mathematics, physics, art, and sociology. The podium experience of Copenhagen, Denmark, inspired her; Kleinberg sought to infuse the Colgate campus with a sense of community and exploration after her return.
So, in spring 2023, we breathed new life into the club, re-creating it with even more energy and direction as a source for architectural thought and inquiry. Club membership is like an initial step for Manzella, and she wishes to continue her academic career by attending a graduate course on architecture, for which she is sure that the club practice and staying with professional architects will be useful. Moreover, Winton realized that the club had aided her with a wider understanding of architecture. She acquired the exemplary skills of preparing a portfolio for graduate school entry examinations.
Fostering Academic and Personal Growth
Beyond academic pursuits, the Architecture Club fosters a dynamic community through immersive workshops, informative presentations, and engaging discussions. From collaborative Lego projects to insightful sessions on architecture's real-world applications, members have a holistic platform to explore their passion and hone their skills.
Moreover, the club facilitates meaningful connections with Colgate alums and industry experts, cultivating a robust network of support and mentorship within the architectural realm. Members gain invaluable insights and professional and personal growth opportunities through these interactions, setting the stage for success in their future endeavors.
The Colgate Architecture Club transcends its role as a student organization and emerges as a crucible of intellectual curiosity, creativity, and community. As members unite under a common passion for architecture, they forge enduring bonds and embark on a collective journey of discovery and growth, embodying the transformative power of collaboration and shared purpose within the vibrant tapestry of Colgate University.
