Blending Ancient History with Modern Design
The existing museum initially planned to open in late 2020, was borne by more than its fair share of difficulties. Designed with an imposing stone façade, the building, however, with the rest of the landscape as if the timeless grandeur of the pyramids influenced its architectural design. The open triangular facade of white stone pieces from the neighboring hills, signifying the lapse of time, is a decorative feature of the structure. Slowly, the front turns into night, and the theatre illuminates the same hypnotizing way as the Egyptian desert.
Architectural Marvels and Symbolism
The museum's architecture will have three three visual axes, which will be perpendicular to the pyramids. Thus, a pyramid will be at the end of each axis. Visitors entering the museum get an orientation to the main exhibits through this ax. Also, a spatial structure for the museum is created to lead visitors to various zones, each dedicated to a different point in the history of Ancient Egypt. The historical co, the Great Court, instead of the huge exhibition space, is the main part of the museum where the grandeur of ancient Egypt is displayed. Here, the first thing presented to the visitors is a sculpture that portrays the Egyptian Pharaoh Ramesnes II, standing 39.5 feet tall. This ancient artifact, which is more than 320 years old, was installed when construction was not even completed, thus testifying that the artifact plays a significant role in defining the museum's architecture.
