Preparations are already in progress at 665 Fifth Avenue in Midtown Manhattan which is yet to be the site of Rolex USA headquarters. This commercial tower measures 469 feet high and proposed for the construction on the corner of Fifth Avenue and East 53rd Street.

Architectural Design and Development

Out of the drawing board of David Chipperfield Architects and developed by the Rolex Realty Company, the new 28-storey edifice promises to make a profound and lasting impact on the socially constructed Manhattan skyline. This will be one of the architectural masterpieces that will transform the skyline of the city and also, a symbol of the Rolex brand. It will provide impressive 199,000 square feet of the premier office and retail area assigned solely to the famous watchmaker; modern business solutions will be complemented by aesthetic design.

Initially, the construction progress was concealed behind sidewalk fencing, with early foundation work focusing on cellar levels and substructure. Recent developments reveal significant advancements, with crews now assembling scaffolding and shoring around the robust core walls. The design strategy includes tall atrium spaces and soaring ceiling heights within the podium, enhancing the interior's grandeur.

Sustainability and LEED Certification

The building's architectural features include staggered setbacks and a series of floor plates that will facilitate a swift construction pace. According to YIMBY, a prominent architecture and development news platform, completion is projected by the end of 2025, with the tower expected to reach its maximum height in the first half of the year.

Upon completion, the tower's interior layout will prioritize functionality and elegance. Offices would be provided from the 5th to the 25th floor while, the 26th and 27th floor would consist of a double volume dining/ event space and a linked terrace thus providing good views of the skyline. A 50 feet tall steel giant and a lower flat roof parapet will also be additional features of the building making it more structurally and architecturally unique.

The project is also sensitivity to the environment and therefore has a very ambitious plan which is to attain a LEED platinum rating which is a major accreditation meant to markers of Rolex's environmental conservation attitude.
