Apple Reveals Futuristic and Environment-Friendly Design for Upcoming Observatory Park

Apple has not just released another brand-new iPhone model this week, but the tech giant also revealed a new addition to their buildings-the Apple Observatory Park.

According to Architectural Digest, the Apple Observatory Park is where Apple will showcase its new products and/or services. Erected into a hillside in Apple Park, or their headquarters found in California's Cupertino, the building came with a natural connection with the landscape and a futuristic design to live up to the company's name.

In the same report, it was noted that Apple Observatory Park owed their early design concept to Foster & Partners, although it was later enhanced by the company's Global Architecture & Design sector.

"When we built Apple Park, we wanted the entire campus to be seamlessly integrated into the landscape, and this building follows that same approach," A global head of Apple's design team, John De Maio said, in an interview with Dezeen.

Dezeen also noted that Apple calls it a "subterranean" building, since its oval-shaped large windows peek out from a hill, almost in a hidden manner. At the same time, the curve of the design resembles the natural landscape, blending effortlessly.

Apple Observatory Park is going to be 2.8 million square feet and will be covered with curved glass, although other materials such as those used in Steve Jobs Theater, will be applied. Outside, it will be surrounded by nature, specifically drought-resistant trees that will require less water.

When it comes to interior design, Apple aims to make it as similar as their retail stores. Clean, almost minimal, but heavily accented with organic colors. Built with an on-site solar power, it is promised to run on 100% renewable energy, with additions of rainwater capture system and air filtration.
