Zaha Hadid is adding yet another award to her list of architecture and urban design achievements from the Goldsmiths College, University of London at the University's graduation ceremony next month.
From receiving the Pritzker Architecture Prize as the first woman ever, to completing the Aquatics Centre project for the 2012 Olympics, Hadid and her practice have produced some of the world's most inventive, challenging, and powerful structures.
In recent news, 2014 Stirling Prize shortlist was announced last month and included the company's Aquatics Centre as being a potential contender for the award, among extremely talented architects like Renzo Piano and Haworth Tompkins, to name a few.
According to Architects Journal, Goldsmiths registrar and secretary Liz Bromley stated, "Our honorands this year are a remarkable group of people. They have changed communities through their inspiring architectural designs. They have pointed out the ridiculous in the news and made us laugh. They have inspired us with their words, their music, and their art. They have fought for our rights. And they have helped us to understand who we are now by looking to the past."
