Six Flags theme parks are known for pushing the laws of physics with their exhilarating rides. With the announcement that a new Batman-themed 4D free-fly roller coaster is being built at its' Fiesta, Texas outpost the theme park chain is once again breaking boundaries.
According to a press release by Six Flags Entertainment Corporation, Batman: The Ride is going to feature "two beyond 90-degree raven drops giving the sensation of free-falling," and "six smooth head-over-heels free-fly flips providing guests with the feeling of weightlessness."
The groundbreaking thrill ride will also showcase innovative track technology that "allows adrenaline seekers to soar outside the confines of the track and fly like Batman."
Riders will be teased as the ride begins with a nerve-racking 120-foot elevator-type lift preceding the first climactic drop. As the train car plunges downward, riders' equilibriums will be scrambled as their seats begin to flip and tumble.
Six Flags accompanied the announcement with an official rendering video of the ride demonstrating the breathtaking drops and dramatic twists that will make it a one-of-a-kind experience.
The theme park described the roller coaster as "the most exciting ride" in the park's 22-year history. Park president Martin Bozer expressed personal enthusiasm about it as as well.
"Every year we continue to provide more and more innovative technology and excitement for our park guests and season pass holders. Batman: The Ride is an entirely new concept in ride engineering and will provide a sensory experience like no other coaster. The unanticipated tumbling will add even more thrills as riders travel along the dipping and swirling track," said Bozer in the park's press release.
The coaster is scheduled to premiere in Summer 2015.
