The newest Hilton Dallas/Plano Granite Park Hotel, a four-star conference center hotel, has recently opened its doors in Granite Park. The 262,500 square-foot property, developed by Granite Properties, was designed by BOKA Powell.
According to Dennis Gulseth, BOKA Powell’s project manager, the design of the hotel is a reflection of Plano’s origins as a community for farming and ranching, which has now grown into a major business hub in North Texas. With its design that features harmony of nature and industry, it combines well with Hilton’s brand of high-end sophistication through the use of high-end and natural materials.
Granite Properties Director of Development/Construction said that the Hilton Granite Park Hotel has been conceptualized even from the start of developing Granite Park and the Hilton has expressed extreme appreciation with the high quality of design that BOKA Powell has provided for the hotel.
With BOKA Powell’s design direction, the open main lobby serves as a major destination for visitors and hotel guests coming from the local community and business park. Entering the lobby, guests are ushered into the conference center and meeting areas with a curving wall. The conference spaces are designed with materials that have a strong connection to nature. The hotel features sculptural forms, decorative lighting, and ceiling details that reflect a water feature surrounding the building.
The design also promotes communal spaces including a technology lounge which can be used for presentations, to print boarding passes or as a working area and sits next to a dramatically-framed cocktail bar. Another would be the Carso Mediterranean Grill which was designed to promote interaction among guests.
Outdoor amenities such as al fresco dining, pool and lounge can be enjoyed by the guests. The hotel also has its own fitness center inside. Guest rooms all feature high-end finishes and lightings while the bathrooms incorporate sophisticated material and fixture selections including a backlit mosaic tile, custom sinks, stone countertops and lighted mirrors.
