With two new iPhones now available and Samsung's Galaxy Note 4also on its way, LG has taken its efforts to keep up with its competitors to a whole new level.
LG has commissioned the world's biggest billboard sign ever to promote the G3, a title given by the Guinness Book of World Records, according to Android-Headlines.
The billboard sits on the route to the King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where LG says 20 million people visit each year. The company estimates the sign, which measures in at 12m high and 250m in length (about two football fields), will generate an additional $25 million in revenue.
That's one big sign to show off a smartphone - even if it is a phablet.
The G3 has helped give the Korean tech giant a legit offering to rival competitor Samsung's new offerings, as the smartphone will reportedly pass the 10 million sales mark soon, according to the Korea Times.
The publication reports that LG has issued a statement expressing their confidence in the G3 and that they believe their flagship smartphone will hit the milestone. As Ubergizmo notes, if the G3 were to hit 10 million sales, it would be the first from LG to do so.
LG reportedly shipped 14.5 million smartphones in quarter two, with the G3 certainly contributing its fair share to that total.
The G3 comes with a 5.5-inch Quad HD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage (with microSD card slot) and a 13MP rear-facing camera with OIS+ and Laser AutoFocus. It also features a 2.1MP front-facing camera, a removable 3000mAh battery and Android 4.4.
