It’s a bit frustrating when you find the perfect decor but not in a place where you can actually buy it.
A new visual search tool developed by Superfish might just be the answer to this design-savvy conundrum. Last September 3, Superfish launched a mobile app and desktop solution LikeThat Decor. This search tool allows users to instantly get information on a design product simply by uploading a photo of it on the app.
Adi Pinhas, CEO and founder of Superfish said, “Visual search is an entirely new way of exploring our world and expressing ourselves.”
The app incorporates Superfish’s patented technology in analyzing and categorzing aspiration photos from website such as Pinterest, Houzz and other sites which catalog images. Users can take pictures or upload photos online or on the app’s gallery and then get information on visually-similar items along with their product specifications and shopping details. The same technology is also used in Superfish’s other apps ShopScout and Pet Match which use an image and convert it into a model and search for similar visual features to compare it with catalogued images from different sources.
This development is not only beneficial to shoppers but to small retailers as well.
In an interview with Business Daily, Pinhas said, “It will provide small business owners a better opportunity to get their products discovered online because search results will be based on the visual appeal of products, rathen than (having businesses) fight for keywords and SEO results. Superfish is proud to lead the charge in developing a new world of search. It is clear that images are the key to opening this new world.”
LikeThat Decor is available at www.likethatapps.com and on the Apple App store. Superfish will also be releasing an Android version later in the year.
