Friday, Oct. 10, marked the grand opening of department store chain Bloomingdale's newest store. The 125,000 square foot shop is located in Palo Alto, Calif. at the Stanford Shopping Center.
It seems fitting that the construction of the building will feature technology advancements throughout the three levels, incorporating new offerings to elevate the shopping experience for consumers.
According to Home and Textiles Today, the "fitting rooms are equipped with wall-mounted tablets so customers can look up product information as well as alternate color and size options, ratings, and reviews. The tablets will also provide recommendations on complementary items. To summon a store associate, customers simply tap the touchscreen. Mirrors feature touchscreen lighting options to adjust the environment. All fitting room areas contain communal tablets with charging stations."
In addition to the innovative tech products and services that will be provided, an array of merchandise will be offered within 68 designer shops of more than 100 new labels.
A renewed selection of products will be available for women, men and children, along with an assortment of home goods. The home department will feature brands such as Abyss, Frette, Pratesi and Sferra. Other items on sale will be available for individuals who incorporate smart living brands into their lifestyle, from labels such as BlueAir Air Purifiers, Objecto Humidifiers and Swash clothing care system.
The chairman and chief executive officer of Bloomingdale's, Tony Spring, stated "This new Bloomingdale's includes a great contemporary assortment, including many new collections, as well as all of our latest thinking with regard to technology and design."
