Takashige Yamashita Office just made another outstanding creation in Japan, Yamanashi Prefecture. A small nursery sits there now which slowly getting known for its architectural design. Find out why it is being called "a big tree." All the details regarding its design and features are here.
According to Arch Daily, Takashige Yamashita Office structured the small nursery as the community's special area. The firm had in mind to do it to be like a "big tree" where people can gather all together. Being children and elderly home, the client wanted to make the place really people-friendly.
Mt. Fuji's picturesque landscape also adds bonus for the atmosphere that the firm wanted to achieve for the nursery. The three elderly facilities and other community spaces are made adjacent forming a lounge for the community, especially for the children.
The structure of Japan's Yamanashi Prefecture nursery was constructed with steel portal frames which set the rooms apart. Then its roof was also modeled with a modern design of wedged big plywood, it's also slightly curved that the effect is slightly bigger space.
According to Design Boom, the bending roof of the Takashige Yamashita designed nursery pass over the other open space scenery like the garden, lounge, lunchroom, nursing room, and other offices. Through it, the whole place was made put under one storey.
The interior architectural design of the nursery was also put in mind by Takashige Yamashita Office. The inside painting of the place was designed by Micromashiko, it used a white paint but the wooden walls were kept as is.
Glasses were also used in the nursery; the stunning view of Japan's Mt. Fuji was also given importance with its use. Takshige Yamashita put a lot of windows, double doors and glassed-walls to make the structure closer to nature.
In all, the little nursery nestled near Mt. Fuji was created for function and scenic view. Takashige Yamashita office made sure that it will not only become an architectural building but also a home.
