Gaggenau Goes Back to its Roots at Eurocucina 2014
During the recently-concluded Salone del Mobile held last April 8 to April 13 in Milan, most of the booths showed technology and modern elements in their set-ups. However, kitchen appliances company Gaggenau took an opposite approach and focused on the “Tradition of Manufacture”, taking its visitors to the roots of culinary culture. Gaggenau’s booth was designed in a way that resembled a traditional kitchen in a farmhouse setting.
Global head of Gaggenau, Sven Schnee explains, “As a well-established international trade fair venue for new trends and currents in the kitchen industry, the Eurocucina is the ideal stage for presenting our products in a wider context. Along with culinary ambassadors, who like us, stand for authenticity, tradition, and the highest standards in materiality and production methods, we communicate our brand values of ‘uncompromising’, ‘extraordinary’ and ‘authentic’ and show Gaggenau appliances as tools in culinary processes. The presentation focuses on the brand experience, shaped by a sophisticated lifestyle.”
Sven Baacke, Gaggenau’s designer-in chief, along with his team were responsible for the booth design. They were able to take inspiration from the brand itself and created a design that is simple and void of gimmicks. Baacke also believes that the enjoyment of one’s food can be highly influenced by the good design of a product.
Gaggenau has built a reputation of manufacturing high-end home appliances and innovative leader in design and technology. The German company has been in the business for more than 330 years, combining both a strong design language with high functionality and technological innovation. Currently, the company has already established flagship showrooms in major capitals of more than 50 countries all over the globe.
