The Trump Mexico border wall is frequently criticized for being divisive, however a recent proposal could turn that negative trait into something positive. Some concerned citizens were quite skeptical that the Trump Administration would actually build the controversial wall.
That is not the case, however, since the Trump Administration is very much determined getting it done. In fact, the Administration already put up a Request For Proposal (RFP) for the Trump Mexico border wall construction.
Surprisingly, there are already already over 300 vendors that expressed their interest in the project. One of those vendors came up with a proposal that's not quite like the Trump Mexico border wall that everyone expected.
According to Archinect, DOMO Design studio opted for a wall design that focuses more on gathering people instead of dividing them. The vendor's proposal features the use of shipping containers and contemporary design.
Principal architect Francisco Llado explained that their design is "not about division", but rather focuses on "unity of sense and sustainable functionality." The Trump Mexico border wall that Llado is talking about certainly sounds nothing like everyone's perceived thick and concrete wall.
The proposed design tries to turn the negative connotation behind the wall into something more positive. DOMO's design also aims to turn the Trump Mexico border wall into a mall.
Turning Trump's wall into a mall would certainly help pay off the amount that's invested into building it. Specially after the fact that the border wall project is going through some financial obstacles.
According to Politico, it's revealed that the administration only has $20 million in existing funds to budget the planned border wall. The source mentioned that the Trump Mexico border wall might even require over $20 billion to construct.
It's also reported that the Trump administration is now circulating budget cuts to the Transportation Safety Administration in order to budget the wall. Since this is the case, the proposal from DOMO design studio could be the solution to the Trump Mexico border wall budget issues. After all, turning a stationary wall into a place of business and leisure could be a win-win situation for both the citizens and the administration.
