LG G3 Variant Names Trademarked: Lite, Vigor, Vista, Beat [Rumor]

LG has trademarked the names of four G3 variants, NDTV reports.

According to a Phone Arena report citing the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) website expressed the desire to trademark these G3 names: G3 Lite, G3 Vigor, G3 Vista and G3 Beat.

The G3 Beat launched as a Chinese Telecom exclusive earlier this week, but is believed to be getting a global rollout later. The smartphone is essentially a Mini version of the well-received flagship - although it does pack an un-mini five-inch display.

While no official release date was noted, the device could debut sometime around the G3's alleged mid-July release. Additional specs include 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, a microSD card slot, a quad-core 1.2GHz processor, an 8MP camera, 4G LTE, a 2500mAh battery, and Android 4.4.2 right out of the box.

Previous rumors suggested the device would come with a 4.5-inch display.

The G3 Mini also allegedly surfaced in a listing on Indian import/export site Zauba, according to My LG Phones, which first spotted the device. The listing for the alleged G3 Mini features the model number LGD722 and packs specs including the 4.5-inch HD display, a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 8GB inbuilt storage, 5-megapixel rear camera and a 2100mAh battery. There was no mention of whether the device features expandable storage.

The model numbers for the G3 Mini are reportedly as follows: LGD722 for European markets, LGD722K for Taiwan, LGD725 for AT&T, LGD724 for CIS markets, and LGD728 for China Mobile LTE.

The G3 Mini previously surfaced in documents obtained by My LG Cell Phones, which claimed that the smartphone is listed with the device name "B2Mini" (the G3 is dubbed the "B2") and the model number LG-D725. The document indicates that the G3 Mini will be coming to AT&T, though no other carriers are listed for the device.

My LG Cell Phones reports that the document gives a first-look at the G3 Mini's specs, which included a 720p display and an 8-megapixel camera. Furthermore, the leak alleges that the camera can capture images with resolution of up to 3264×2248.
