DP Architects has revealed an innovative design for the Singapore Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, titled "The Dream Sphere." This architectural marvel is set to highlight Singapore's commitment to innovation, sustainability, and resilience and promises to captivate a global audience. The pavilion's striking spherical shape, adorned with red discs crafted from recycled materials, is a nod to Singapore's affectionate moniker, "Little Red Dot."
Design Philosophy
Seah Chee Huang, CEO of DP Architects, explained that the pavilion is designed to embody the term endearment physically. "A Dream Sphere, enveloped by over 20,000 Dream Discs made of recycled material, presents a beacon of collective aspiration where we invite the global community on a multisensorial journey to imagine a wondrous world of endless possibilities, powered by dreams and determination to shape the lives of people and the planet positively," he stated.
Expo Theme Alignment
The design aligns with the Expo's overarching theme, "Designing Future Society for our Lives," DP Architects aims to promote a global call for a sustainable future through their motto, "Where Dreams Take Shape." The pavilion seeks to inspire visitors by showcasing the limitless potential of dreams to create a better and more positive world.

During architectural design and construction, DP Architects embraced innovative solutions to achieve sustainable goals and vision. Adopting the Reduce, Recycle, Reuse, Renew theory, they incorporated lighter and low-carbon components purchased according to the Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA) design. This design promotes unification for assembly and disassembly and opens up the possibilities for reusing and recycling after the Expo.
Environmental Features
One of Dream Sphere's main users is the rooftop, which is installed with Building Integrated Photovoltaics to support renewable power generation. Furthermore, every one of the 20,000 Dream Discs is made from approximately 70% recycled aluminum from previous consumers, which has helped eliminate more than 100 tons of CO2 in the pavilion design and demobilization life cycle.
Osaka Expo 2025 will occur between April 13 and October 13, 2025, at Yumeshima, an artificial island at the seaside west of Osaka. Visitor Experience
The concept and display of the Dream Sphere at the Singapore Pavilion entice visitors into a world where dreams intersect with sustainability to present a vision of a future created by practical ideas and practice. Indeed, this pavilion will be one of the main attractions of the Expo, not just for its beautiful design but also because of the optimistic essay on the future of our planet and the importance of its protection.
National pavilions that joined at Expo 2025 Osaka share their ideas of an improved future; the Singapore pavilion demonstrates the Spirit of togetherness and sustainable advancement.
